Although we are ready, and everything is in place to go forward, there are definitely a few major changes for this year. First of all, Coleman Lake/Primitive Campground is not opening for the race due to the Federal Gov’t regulations that are still in place for Covid-19. However, the city of Heflin has so graciously stepped up to allow us to use the Cahulga Park (downtown Heflin) as our start/finish area. The race will start at the park, turn onto the spur, and continue to Pine Glenn as the new turn around point for the 50K. As always, there will be a marking mid-forest for the ½ marathoners to turn around. Unfortunately, Cahulga Park does not allow camping. Yes, you have read this correctly!!! This year’s race is going in the opposite direction, but hey, you are getting to run and play in the woods so let’s get excited!!!

We have ordered extra porter potties for your morning and after race convenience. :)

When arriving at the park, please park on the sides of the road, or in the marked off area for the race. This area will be limited so please park as close to one another, as possible.

Some of the precautions we would like to follow at the aid stations…
.
  1. Fill your own water bottle :(  Aid station workers will hold down the water spout for you as you hold the bottle to be filled, or they will pour from the pitcher of GU as you hold your bottle.
  2. Use spoon provided in food where provided
  3. Please throw away any trash via trash bag at station.
  4. Remember to social distance yourself from the trees….just kidding!

Coordinates for start/finish, and aid stations are attached - HERE

Remember to have a great time and enjoy what the Pinhoti brings us...fresh air, friends, rolling hills, peace….
We look forward to seeing you!
